At Rebecca’s café on Sunday afternoon watching young and old walk in
with their lifeline laptops, iPads and ifones…order coffee, tea and scones…
then plug into and turn on the web… to blog, to text, to tweet …
to live in virtual reality… no need for polite and heated conversation
on the recorder por 2 loss of life in the war on terror or the recorder por 2 loss of liberty at home…
today we come together at Rebecca’s café to be alone with each other
in cyberspace

The Hommies live in the …hood
without a neighbor…
wearing their belts below their butts
On week days the Hommies get down
and bang with the gang
On weekends they deliver girls to the Blade
to beg and bleed for Dollars

When I see hommies on Monday morning
their swagger has given way
to standing in shackles
Their sinking eyes and shoulders
betray lives wasting
in the street and in Juvenile Hall
seeking salvation after the fall
